Your happiness depends upon your sense of balance
By Satyendra
Our desires play a vital role in deciding the direction of our lives.
If a man is cursed with a desire to amass a colossal amount of money…an amount which he does not deserve because the capability to handle that money is not present, then that acquisition may become the cause of that man’s downfall.
This desire may become so strong that it may acquire the form of a disease.
It may occupy his entire mental scape. So much so that he may look down upon all other enjoyments and wonderful opportunities that life may have to offer.
The life of such a person may start moving in only one direction… where he can amass more and more wealth.
He may earn it by cheating or by crime or through unfair means.
He earns.
Wealth gets created.
But with that wealth the results of those karmas which are instrumental in creating that wealth also come.
And one day we hear that such a person has been killed or has gotten entangled in legal issues.
The fulfilment of desires must always be in proportion to our sense of responsibilities.
Nature has got everything in abundance for the entire creation.
If we become sensitive and develop a responsible behaviour, nature opens its doors of fulfilment and blesses us with its abundance.
How do we find out that one factor which is imperative for leading a happy and joyous existence on this planet?
That factor is neither money nor health.
That factor is “balance.”
If we do not have mental equilibrium, our mind becomes incapable of generating a reasonable and equanimous thinking process. Then we start taking decisions which start taking us onto a path which fills our life with pain, worry and unhappiness.
A healthy person cannot enjoy his health for long if he does not have balance.
Without balance, he will indulge into habits which will destroy his health very soon.
Without this balance, the money will be misused and its result will be pain.
Responsibility springs from a balanced mind. Without balance, a life full of abundance will only be a painful life.
